2 weeks at Aoga Amata: Pre-School.

Isis has developed a routine when she goes to Aoga-Amata, in the morning she's has this 'I don't want to go to school' attitude and cries when we get there, but she eventually settles. Then when it's time to pick her up she's got this 'I don't want to go home attitude' - You can never win with this girl. Ha!

I know she has developed a close friendship with one of the children, that's mainly because she has grown up with her since birth, they are literally a month a part and have known each other since then, so she always has a lot to say about her friend 'Penina' and always wants me to bring her home with us.

Today when we got home she was showing me the new song she learnt at Aoga-Amata.

Tiny Tim the little turtle who had bubbles stuck in

his throat from eating to much soap.

It was so delightful watching her explain the song.

After she's had her mini crying session on our way home she will be back

to her normal bubbly self, at the moment we ask her in Samoan

'O ai lo faiaoga?' - 'Who is your teacher?'

and seeing how there are 3 teachers at her Aoga,

she will name one - 'Akesa' 

And for some strange reason she always says 'Akesa' and 'Cyanny'

Cyan is one of my girls daughters who is a couple of years older then her :) 

So far so good, I guess - Still settling in to her new environment, 

and learning to trust those around her, getting familiar with the

teachers and getting use to the Aoga Routine as a whole.

LGC Dance Crew.

Just wanted to reminisce on hubby's days in dance. 2006 - I believe this group started. It was a Hip-Hop Sensation in Wellington,NZ back in the day. This group was made up of many young talented men within the Wellington region and they were all very passionate and moved by this movement of dance. They were all and are still very good friends and I just wanted to acknowledge how they were - Unstoppable!

Back then, they had practice's nearly everyday,

that was their life - work, dance, work, dance.

Nowadays most of them are all fathers now. They all have there own 

families and have all moved on from LGC. 

Some continue to dance, lead other dance groups, companies, involved in dance 

some way or another - but this is where it started for most of them.

It was a brotherhood - a passion that was solely dance, and only

they understood how it much it meant.

6 years later: I can say the dance topic never gets old,

hubby and some of the boys still dance for little events

and still continue to meet up and chill when they can.

That Legacy still lives on within them all.

Sunday School Funday

  

Saturday was a day full of fun for the kids of PIPC Newtown, there teachers put together a event of 'Fun' for the kids seeing as it is the school holidays. There were different activities going on within the church and the hall. there was a Music Workshop, Arts and Crafts, Hip Hop, Baking workshop and me and the lovely Mrs Tracey Sa worked in the 'Face Painting' area.

It was a whole day event and was filled with non-stop action from the morning. The kids were taken for a 'Push-Play' session by there qualified fitness instructors: Sigah Ualesi and Damien Ekenasio who have been dancing in the clubs for most of there lives. Ha! They lead the day with a rendition of Beyonce's 'Move your Body' song, and the kids were all into it - it was a good workout and I'm sure everyone who participated in it didn't leave without a sweat :) - Awesome work Sigah & D.

Lunch was superb: 'Nacho's with Cheese & Salad' it was very filling and delicious, so big ups to the kitchen crew who provided that.

Overall, the day went well - Kids learnt new things, Kids were well fed, Socializing, Enjoying themselves and of course - Having FUN!

We went home with a very tired child who fell asleep during our ride home, me and Jonate Lealea managed to sneak off and get some KFRY: #FatKrack moment, I shall blame the pregnancy. Ha!

The song taught in the 'Music Workshop' by the talented Lelovi Helen Moananu and Teni Maaelopa 

was a Kirk Franklin Melody - Rain down on me.
I was going to post the video of the singing as well but it just wouldn't load. #Damm.

Well done to the teachers of PIPC NEWTOWN 2012 for all there efforts towards this event, especially to the Event Team: Tapu Fasitua and her Hubby who is also the current 'Superintendent'  Sigah Ualesi Nems Leota Ligi Fasitua and to those I've missed out, Awesome work!

Shall look forward to more events within the year.

Elite & Authentic Dance Group, NZ.

Tonight we went to a concert held at 'Street Church' in Wellington, NZ. It was a awesome showcase of young talent all promoting and uplifting God's name.

The two dance groups involved were called 'Elite' and 'Authentic' made up with a mixture of young teens with all the same passion for dance.

This is what they were fundraising for:

On the 15th of April Elite Dance Crew in Collaboration with Authentic Dance Crew will be going to Melbourne Australia to minister through dance, share our story and give GOD STREET CRED BOOOOYYYY! invited by Planet Shakers church aswell as NO LIMITS CREW!!

God is good, It is good to see young people all aim and work towards the same goal, the passion these kids have for dance is overwhelming and they are extremely supported by there families as well as there Church congregation so it is very pleasing to see this sort of support for teens in NZ. 

This concert was based on dance, drama and music and was outlining all the problems and situations that teens face today. Suicide, Break-ups, Relationships, Family and life. 

The way these kids performed with confidence and passion, it brought such meaning to the message itself. - You are not alone.

So I highly recommend if you are in Melbourne within the times these groups are there, don't hesitate to go and be inspired - God is good!
