Isis Godmother: Raylene Lolo

So I never believed in this theory, the one where it says every child
must have Godparents or people whom our kids go to if by
chance something terrible ever happened to us.
But after thinking about it for the whole 9 months that I
was carrying my Princess Isis, I realized - well, if anything did
ever happen to me or my husband, whom will I trust whole-heartedly to
take care of my Isis in this worst care scenario. Heaps of people came to
mind, my aunties, uncles, cousins - YES, every single one of my
family members would count as the next of kin in these situations,
but for this 'Godparent' status, I opted to go with one of my best friends - Ray!
Not because I know she will do a better job then my family, because
equally they help me towards her upbringing, It's just
when I thought of the 'Godparents' I thought of 'Trust' and I've grown up
with this chick for so long - that she practically had my back in everything I've
faced. So if I had to pick someone that very minute it was her!

We went to the same college, I was part of her family as she was with us,
her dad called us crazy and we went through heaps of 'First's' together, Ha!
13 years we've been tight and I just knew that she would take care of my girl as if she
was her own :)

Now we have both grown up and have kids of our own. 1 year ago she gave
birth to my little samoan / maori nephew: 'Paxton Tafao Lees' whom she carried beautifully
even when it came to the delivery room - she was one 'Superwoman' when it came to
Natural Birth. It was an Amazing experience being there to witness that for the first time!

Ray & Pax.

So far, she's done a lot of unexpected things for Isis and me
and I'm very grateful for having her as one of my
closest girls and G.MA - ASLR.

This one's for you G.
If there was ever a girl I knew would fight for me if she
needed to - this was her, wouldn't want to make her mad! Ha!

Homegirl for Life.

30 Weeks.

How far along? 29 Weeks + 6 Days / Every Sunday is a new week, She's the size of a Pineapple now! Woop.
Maternity Clothes? Haven't brought any Maternity clothes since carrying my 2nd bub. Although my sister-in-law in Melbourne surprised me with some lovely tops, think she was sick of me saying I looked like a Parachute with the Tops I was wearing. ha! (Thanks Kailah)
Stretch Marks? Yes, unfortunately! Boo.
Sleep? Not to good this week, have been up 3x max in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom - very annoying! Usually have afternoon naps when possible and have been getting reasonable amounts of sleep in's, now that I've finished work! Bonus :)
Best Moment this week? Visiting my Midwife and knowing our Princess is growing fine. Hearing her healthy heartbeat and getting solutions to help cope with my back pain. Grrr.
Miss Anything? Being able to bend over.. it's very uncomfortable having to squat all the time! Ha! I guess I am officially at that uncomfortable stage where I feel big & heavy and out of breath all the time, so definitely looking forward to feeling 'normal' again :)
Movement? Heaps and Heaps especially when it's just us lying down chilling! Midwife says  she is lying across my tum, so hopefully on our next visit she will be in the head down position.
Food Cravings? Omg... Anything Spicy, So bad! Especially 'Thai' food. Craving that heaps lately.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope, Probably over-eating makes me feel queasy! Bad Habit! Haha.
Gender? Girl!
Labour Signs? Nope.
Symptoms? Heartburn, Fatigue, Shortness of breath, doesn't help my lungs are all squashed up in there. Lol.
Belly Button in or out? Out :)
Happy or moody most of the time? Happy - but most of the time moody this week! Grrr! Beware! My poor Flatmates.. haha!
Looking forward to? Setting up my Princess cot again. Going through all her baby clothes. Being able to hear her heartbeat again at my next appointment. Hoping for another scan, dying to see her again, although they say the next time I will see baby is when I give birth, but hoping to pursue them to give me one! Ha! - Again since I suffer from EBS (Early-bird Syndrome) I have already packed my Maternity bag for baby. 2 months before due date. I will probably take it out and do it again! Ha! But for now, it's always good to be prepared :)

Maternity Bag: $30.00.
(Wish I kept Isis bag - Grr)

Packed with Pink - Mostly with Isis's hand-me-downs.
(Thank God for Storage)

Some Essential's for baby if I have to stay in the hospital.
(Still need to buy Nappies)

Isis's going home bodysuit when she was born.
I loved this. It fitted Isis perfectly and kept her snug on
our way home from the hospital.
Now it's time to pass on her to Little Sister :)
(Thank you Aunty Rocky & Vee Faletolu)

With Love.

That One Place.

There is always that place you remember as a child, that place memories were made, that place you learnt how to rollerblade, ride a bike, cook etc. That place that you felt safe and started your first years of life. For me, that place was 'Hanson Street'. Memories flood back of all the things that happened there, it is still fresh in the back of my mind - The stairway to our flat, Indoor laundry room with concrete walls, the blue door with 17 imprinted on it and the stench of an unexplainable smell gathered in the hallways - it's a smell which let you know 'Your home' - as strange as that sounds, it was welcoming, and indeed we became familiar instantly.

This was my first home, I grew up here. It was a small but reasonable, 2 bedroom flat, kitchen, bathroom, living-room and balcony area - the wallpaper had a flowery design to it - Creamy Colored almost with a darker shade for the carpet. It had a small hallway which connected all the rooms - As you entered you were greeted with a wall on your right with hooks you could hang your jackets / bags and below was a shoe rack which was always piled up with our shoes, cousins shoes and neighbors shoes. Ha! Indeed our house was open to everyone even the most unexpected guests.

I was the first born - so indeed I remember being spoilt. My parents worked hard, (and still do) to make a living for us. This place was my sanctuary, I felt safe there. The homey feeling knowing there was no other place like it. My parents installed in us the importance of school, I loved literature and art. I was given a wooden desk to work on and let my imagination explore, I remember being so excited to get my own desk - I completed all my homework on there and drew pictures of things I loved, family, flowers and all things colorful - Oh the joys of being a child.

It was in this place my father taught me how to draw, he taught me how to write in Italic, draw 'Block-Letters', design certain pictures and write my name- he was quite the uncover artist. Me and my brother endured long afternoons learning how to write our names and we often cried because he wanted us to perfect writing that and learning the Samoan Alphabet at the same time. It was a grueling experience, but am thankful I went through that because that's where my love of Art developed.

I remember having Samoan neighbors below us - The Brown family. We connected instantly and became best of friends. We practically spent most holidays together and we lived at each others houses for the years we resided there - I loved it! I was best friends with the oldest girl and my brother was best friends with the younger brother - so it worked out fine. They also had this cousin who was mentally challenged I shall say discreetly - but we all learnt to cope with him - that's where I learnt that there were different / special people in the world with unexplainable illness that we must also learn to love.

This is also the place, I met my Grandparents from Samoa for the first time. It was a overwhelming experience, my parents brought them over for a couple of weeks and I remember them feeling so out of place, coming from hot tropical weather to the coldness of Wellington, NZ - it sure would've scared anyone new. Ha! The instant connection I felt when they arrived - the love which instantly showed in my smile - these were my mothers parents. They were old and frail, but very strong indeed. My grandpa had arthritis in his left hand so that was new to me. He enjoyed walking - me and my cousins walked him round the block every time we finished school - I would hold his hand and slowly walk round the block with him. He loved it. Thankful I got to meet him in person before he passed on - I love you Grandpa Pone. #RIP. #Tears.

We walked everywhere when we lived at this place. My parents didn't know how to drive then so my dad would walk us to and from school, it was quite a walk but he said it was good for us. Ha! (Wish I never learnt how to drive sometimes) #laughing. #WeightGain. He would pack our lunches, and dressed us warm and walked us every single day - one of us in each hand. *I love him so much* I remember me being a crybaby - literally, at the age of 9 I didn't want him to leave me at school, I told him to stay with me all the time. It got to the point where he had to bride me with Chocolates to make to stay and said if I was good, i'll get some more when I got home - I eventually got over this phase but it did take ages - so now I'm going through it with my little 2 year old - Isis, Karma at its finest. #Laughing.

We lived at Hanson Street for 12years, then moved to another memorable place: Daniell Street, which indeed has memories of it's own. Haha. I will always remember Hanson Street as being the one place where I felt as ease. As young as I was, I loved that place. I know life would have so very different if I stayed there longer - in a good way I suppose. But we learn to accept things we cannot change and love the life we live now.

I saw first - hand what my parents sacrificed for me and my brother and for that I am eternally grateful, they have installed in me the importance of love, family, life and God and to this day I live everyday knowing that I am loved.

This was 'That One Place' for me. That place happiness began and that place I was taught many valuable things about life itself. You can't achieve anything without struggle. So work hard in everything you do, but do it the RIGHT way - you'll find that more rewarding.

Love your parents; because while we are busy growing up,
they are also busy growing old.

Forever in debt to them both.
26 years and there love never fails.
Blessed.

Push Play Saturday.

Sun is out, Chores done. There is no excuse for not
going to Push Play today, Ha! Me and my little
mini-me decided to go for a walk around our Hometown.

Cleaning her mess up, before we go.

Vege Market in Newtown.

Playing at the Park.

Down the Slide.

Off to get mommy's eyebrows done.

Treat for Isis for sitting nicely while mommy did her eyebrows :)

Lunch: Thai Express/Aroy in Newtown: TomYumNoodles. Mmm.

Last play at Carara Park.

Hometime: Bubbles with Papa.

Golly we didn't even go long, but walking up and down those hills
sure worked out my calves, Ha! Isis was so good while we went for a walk,
I was expecting her to get tired and want me to carry her the whole way, but
we actually survived. She looked at all the prams going past and said 'Look mommy,
it's Baby Isla' (That's the name she's been calling her unborn sister) So cute! Can't wait
to have my two girls with me. Very excited indeed.

Well that's our day so far, going to try have a Nana nap before I meet my
Molly's tonight for Dinner and much needed girl time.

Until next time,

xx

29 weeks / 4 days.

This is where my Nesting Instinct kick in, I am 29 weeks & 4 days today,
I have finished from work early, because being in Childcare is so demanding
and I couldn't do the most simple things like Pick up kids and run around with them,
I just got to tired and very clumsy. Ha! So I had to finish a month early. Boo!

On the bright side I get to cook more, housewife duties & rest heaps.
Lucky for me the week I finished the weather has been terrible, it has
rained and been so cold; those types of weathers your thankful for being inside,
so it been good being indoors, although it means I indulge more in all sorts of food anytime
of the day just for the sake of it. Argh! #NoGood.

I have however in this one week, moved my room around: with help of course
with the heavy stuff, managed to find all my old clothes and missing
socks, clean my baby's old clothes and have emo moments with them because
you don't know where time went and how fast they've grown, found old
pairs of shoes which I probably only wore once but kept anyways
for memories, did washing for everyone in the house and randomly been in that mood
to cook dinner almost every night. #BonusForTheWorkers and good for me
to keep me busy while I can.

Just some of the food dishes I did this week: Lunch / Dinner.

Chinese Style: Fried Rice. Mmm.

Chicken Mushroom w/ Mash.

Devilled Sausages.

Samoan Panikeke's. (Pancakes)

Chicken Salad.

I love cooking and making dishes look creative and nice to eat.
Cooking would have to be one of the most therapeutic things to do,
I love to especially cook for people and surprise the hubby after work, Ha!

At this stage of the pregnancy I get tired easily so when I do have
energy that's when I do all the housewife duties and cook to keep the
blood flowing - So far so good!

12 weeks to go.
